A Nigerian man built a working helicopter out of junk. Read the rest here. This is incredible. Why can’t they employ people like this, who have something to offer us all?

Pain, Torture & Court Trial
They took me to Adeniji Adele Police Station, Lagos. That was when they started giving me hell. They hung me, beat and tortured me. That was the day I knew they were accusing me of murder. They said somebody was killed in Lagos and his car was snatched and they later found the car around the village where I was in Gwari. The policemen said the people fled into the bush that was why they were looking for visitors around that area. All the while I had no idea why I had been arrested. The confessional statement in my case file, they wrote it themselves and forced me to sign. After that they transferred me to Ikoyi Prison and that was where they resumed another round of torture. I spent almost 9 months there before they took me to court with four other men. I didn’t even know those men. They charged us all for conspiracy to murder. My lawyer told me to plead ‘Not Guilty’ so I did and from there they took me to Kirikiri Medium Security Prison.
Communication with the Outside World
… My parents died when I was in prison and they told me. I felt bad but I could not do anything. I just prayed to God not to let me die in prison.
Around the millennium time, my family members brought a phone to me at the prison but it was not approved. I had to sneak it in and we hide to use it. If the prison wardens catch anyone with a phone, they will send the person to prison inside prison. Real torture.

The interview between Chika and Stella was in Encomium mag last week:
Chika: I’ve been having some strange feelings inside me
Stella: How?
Chika: Waking up late, sleeping early. My waist is at times hurting me and I keep spitting and almost vomiting. As I am talking with you now, I am running a temperature, and the worst is my legs are heavy as if its swollen. I am not just myself as I always have fainting spells and I don’t know what to do.
Stella: What you are describing is like pregnancy symptoms but you are a man so how can you be pregnant?
Chika: I don’t know o my sister. I am afraid I don’t want that because I have had it once and it was taken out and now again, after a year and some months, it’s back again.
Stella: You were pregnant before?
Chika: Yes. Please pray for me. Before such has happened but not the same feeling like now. Then I was three weeks pregnant.
Stella: How is it possible? You have a womb?
Chika: The doctors say I have a womb but tiny, that it is not going to happen again. I have a womb but how can I give birth when I have only a penis?
Stella: So how did the doctor abort your last pregnancy?
Chika: The doctor cut my tummy open from under my navel down the last time. Let me rest now please, you are making me panic. I don’t want anything to happen to me, I don’t want to die.
